FUE,FUT or SMP !!
There are various treatments out their to help people deal with hairless, both men and women.I don’t think I have found one quite as life changing as Scalp Micropigmentation (SMP). It doesn’t just stop at the scalp, there are treatments available to replace thinning eyebrows and make up which gives the face expression.
Cover has sent us all behind closed doors, but I found that I was being contacted by a lot of men that have been wearing hair systems for years or they were thinking of travelling abroad, (Turkey seems to be the popular destination at the moment ) for hair transplant – formerly known as FUE,FUT.
I am not against any of the treatment and it really is subjective. There are pros and cons for both and to be honest, there are a lot of men and women out there that cannot bear to be bald.
Well I promote the bald look. Of course I do, because being unfaithful to baldness is allowed!!
The pros and cons that I have come across over the last few years have been eye opening.
Lets start with transplants; I have had a few clients that have come to me for treatment after the transplant, either to create a density (because sometimes that transplanted hair can be thin) or hasn’t taken at all or they need the donor area covered with SMP. The process can be lengthy and there is no guarantee that the hair will appear, however I think the success rate is fairly high if you are willing to take the plunge.
Do I like the look? not sure, it looks a little like dolls hair to me but that is only my opinion. I don’t think the hair sits very natural. Others love it.
Hair systems are another method of creating hair for a bald person. I have been amazed at the skill of hair systems. Some hair systems are incredible and right now you could be standing next to somebody wearing one, they are that good ! The systems is placed/glued onto the scalp and cut into a desired style. It stays put for at least a month. Then you return to the hairdresser who will lift it, clean it, and refresh it. After the initial cost, there is the monthly up keep.
It is a big step, a big step to walk around after years with a system and let the world see you as you are and accept you for it. I get that, I commend anyone who plucks up the courage to do so, but the results speak for themselves and the feeling it gives my client never ceases to bring a lump to my throat! I have seen many clients leave my salon with a whole new level of confidence!
Scalp micropigmentation is fast, almost instant. It takes between 8-10hrs to complete over a period of 2/3 weeks and its done. The look is cool and aesthetically gives the appearance of youth although there is no hair on the head. It ages with grace and can be boosted in colour as the years go on, if required.
and …..if you hate it, which I have never come across anyone that does yet, it can be laser off easily.
The cost can range from £1000-£3000 depending on where you have it done but after the initial outlay, the maintenance is low and free. A revolutionary treatment I’d say.
